From my first conversation with Patrice and Doug before they booked me as their planner we had a great connection! They had been planning for a few months and were stuck on the where of their wedding celebration. The place was extremely important to them, they wanted a venue that was beautiful for their guests to experience since the large majority of them were traveling from out of state.
Our first step was to figure out where we were going to host their tropical wedding weekend celebration. After a few months of inquires and phone calls (I am in Dallas/Fort Worth, they are in Houston and we were planning for southern Florida) We discovered the Four Seasons Orlando and we didn’t look at anything else after that. The photos do not do this property justice, it is so gorgeous! Patrice and Doug fell in love with it and we were ready to start planning all the details!
The Inspiration and Details
One of the most important things for Patrice was to celebrate her Caribbean heritage and for both of them it was to be in a luxurious setting that they guests would enjoy. This lead me to create the mood boards for their wedding day. As you can see this is a perfect mix of both!
This leads me to their gorgeous wedding invitations, that were custom made by JPC Graphics! The photo doesen’t even do them any justice. They included laser cut palm leaves and a silhouette of The Four Seasons Orlando Resort on the inside of the envelope.
Let’s Get Married!
The morning of their wedding was a gorgeous and hot summer day! Everyone was excited for the wedding. My recommendation for all of my brides is to have a seperate room for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready. This way the bride can have some quiet time away from the chaos and buzz of all her friends getting ready. Patrice followed my advice and she got ready in their suite while her bridesmaids were in a hospitality room.
One of the highlights of the “getting ready” time was when I delivered Patrice’s bouquet to her suite. It was my first time working with Raining Roses, but I will NOT be my last. They packaged her bouquet and allowed her to “open” it just like a Christmas present! She was beyond excited!!!
This was the first moment she saw herself with her bouquet in the mirror and realized she was getting married in a few hours!!!
The Ceremony
It is finally time for the ceremony and their wedding ceremony was phenomenal. Their officiant Pastor Goodman made the audience laugh, then cry and ended it all with a prayer that included the audience to cover them during their marriage. They were all smiles as they were finally ready to be introduced as husband and wife.
The Reception
Patrice and Doug were very adamant that they wanted their reception to be fun. We started with music, the plan was to start with Blue Moon Band and finish the reception with a full caribbean fete via dj. The guests had a blast as they enjoyed the food, a sing along battle with the MC’s and a full Caribbean fete to finish out the reception. It was epic!
They are truly and amazing couple and I was so glad to have the opportunity to work with them. The Four Seasons Orlando Property is gorgeous and I am looking to go back to celebrate with more Stohr-ee Couples!!!
